Santa Claus is actually Saint Nicholas..
He used to give people and good children presents at late evening on the 24th December, which is christmas eve...
Saint Nicholas is called the Father of Christmas...
Actually his image today is not his real image...
It was the illustration of political cartoonist, Thomas Nast...
And christmas is celebrated for religion purposes, especially to those who are christians..
I don't think its a crime for anyone to wish or just to celebrate with their christian friends..
I think it is just for showing some respect for them... ^^
